How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Opportunity

    As Electrical Engineering Manager, you will provide technical and operational leadership across multiple engineering projects, ensuring the successful development, validation and release of innovative products into production.

    You will lead a skilled engineering team, oversee project delivery, drive engineering best practice and act as a key technical authority within the organisation.

    This position offers significant influence across engineering strategy, product development, manufacturing integration and continuous improvement initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities

    Engineering Leadership & Project Delivery

    Lead and develop the electrical engineering team
    Oversee projects from concept through to production release
    Manage engineering resources across multiple programmes
    Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget
    Provide expert technical leadership on complex engineering challenges
    Support new product development and product enhancement initiatives
    Conduct performance reviews and support employee development
    Drive a culture of accountability, innovation and technical excellence
    Support recruitment and succession planning activities

    Engineering Governance & Technical Authority

    Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards and regulations
    Approve electrical designs, calculations, specifications and technical documentation
    Lead design review processes throughout the product lifecycle
    Oversee engineering change management activities
    Ensure robust verification and validation testing is completed before production release

    Manufacturing & Operational Integration

    Ensure designs are optimised for manufacture, assembly and serviceability
    Collaborate closely with manufacturing teams to resolve production challenges
    Support value engineering and cost reduction initiatives
    Work with supply chain teams to improve standardisation and supplier integration

    Innovation & Continuous Improvement

    Improve engineering processes, systems and workflows
    Promote design standardisation and modular engineering approaches
    Identify opportunities to enhance product performance, reliability and sustainability
    Develop and monitor engineering KPIs covering quality, efficiency, delivery and cost

    About You

    You are a proven engineering leader with a strong technical background and a passion for delivering high-quality engineering solutions.

    Essential Requirements

    Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
    Significant experience designing electrical systems for heavy equipment, mobile machinery, vehicles or similar products
    Minimum 7 years' leadership experience within an engineering function
    Strong understanding of manufacturing and OEM environments
    Experience managing projects throughout the full product development lifecycle
    Knowledge of electrical integration, machine controls and complex system design
    Experience using CAD and electrical design platforms such as EPlan, SolidWorks Electrical, AutoCAD Electrical, DraftSight or similar
    Strong understanding of engineering documentation and change control processes
    Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills
