How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Nursery Manager

    Location: Leigh (Attached to a local Primary School)

    Hours: 08:30 - 15:30, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)

    Contract: Maternity Cover (Starting September)

    Salary: Paid to scale

    About the Role

    Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a passionate, experienced, and dedicated Nursery Manager to oversee a charming, small nursery attached to a thriving school community in Leigh. This is a full-time maternity cover position starting this September, offering desirable school-ready hours (08:30 - 15:30) that perfectly balance work and life.

    You will lead a small, close-knit team of early years practitioners, ensuring the highest standards of care, education, and safeguarding are maintained. Because the nursery is attached to a school, you will benefit from strong community links, excellent shared resources, and a supportive senior leadership team.

    Key Responsibilities

    Oversee the day-to-day management and smooth running of the nursery.

    Lead, mentor, and inspire a small team of early years staff.

    Ensure full compliance with EYFS framework, Ofsted regulations, and safeguarding policies.

    Maintain excellent relationships with parents, carers, and the attached school's leadership.

    Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment for all children.

    What We Are Looking For

    Qualifications: A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (Degree in Early Years or EYPS/EYITT is highly desirable).

    Experience: Proven experience as a Nursery Manager, Deputy Manager, or strong Room Leader looking to step up.

    Skills: Excellent communication, strong leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of the EYFS curriculum and safeguarding procedures.

    This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks

    Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained

    You must have the legal right to work in the UK
