How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Tradewind are recruiting! Are you looking for you next role teaching DRAMA in a great school located in Southwark?

Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with this Client, a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in the borough of Southwark, to appoint a passionate and creative Drama Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Drama specialist to inspire confidence, creativity, and performance skills across Key Stages 3 and 4 within a supportive and ambitious school environment.

This Client is a well-regarded secondary school that has been recognised in its most recent Ofsted inspection for its strong leadership, inclusive ethos, and commitment to student achievement. Inspectors praised the school's positive learning culture, effective teaching, and the high levels of engagement from students. The report also highlighted the school's commitment to the arts, including Drama and Performing Arts, as a key strength in developing student confidence and creativity.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and imaginative Drama lessons, developing students' performance, communication, and collaboration skills. You will be expected to plan and deliver high-quality lessons, assess student progress, contribute to curriculum development, and support school productions, performances, and extracurricular Drama clubs.

Job role requirements include teaching Drama across KS3 and KS4, strong subject knowledge in Drama and Performing Arts, the ability to deliver creative and engaging lessons, effective classroom and behaviour management, and a commitment to encouraging student participation and confidence in performance. You should also be willing to contribute to whole-school productions and enrichment opportunities.

The ideal candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, a degree in Drama, Theatre Studies, or a related subject, and experience teaching Drama in a secondary school setting. A strong understanding of the KS3 and KS4 Drama curriculum is essential. The successful teacher will be energetic, imaginative, and passionate about the performing arts, with the ability to inspire students of all abilities. ECTs with strong Drama training and placement experience are encouraged to apply.

This Client offers a supportive and creative Arts department, access to performance spaces, and a strong commitment to staff development and wellbeing. The school fosters a collaborative environment where creativity is encouraged and celebrated. The school is based in Southwark and benefits from excellent transport links, including nearby Underground and Overground stations, as well as extensive bus routes across South London and Central London.

Working with Tradewind Recruitment also provides access to a range of benefits including competitive pay in line with London MPS/UPS, ongoing support from a dedicated consultant, and unlimited access to National College free CPD courses to support your professional growth and career development.

Interviews are to be arranged immediately, and the school will conduct interviews once CVs have been shortlisted, so do not delay in applying for this role.
