How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

They are looking for an organised and detail-driven Estimator to join their Design & Structures team. The role involves working closely with Structural Engineers and CAD Technicians to produce accurate estimates, support project planning, and contribute to the delivery of structural schemes. This position is ideal for someone with early career estimating or technical experience who is ready to take on more responsibility.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Produce accurate estimates, quotations, and costings for structural and design-led projects.

    * Work collaboratively with Structural Engineers and CAD Technicians to gather technical details and clarify requirements.

    * Use Excel and internal systems to generate structured pricing and documentation.

    * Review drawings, client specifications, and technical information to support estimating activity.

    * Contribute to project planning and forecasting within the Design & Structures function.

    * Provide guidance and mentoring to junior members of the CAD team.

    * Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and timely information flow.

    * Carry out occasional site visits to understand project requirements.

    Key Skills / Experience

    * 2–4 years’ experience in estimating, technical support, or engineering support (construction or structural environment preferred).

    * Strong communication skills and ability to work across technical and commercial teams.

    * Confident user of Microsoft Excel and comfortable learning internal systems.

    * Highly organised, numerate, and able to produce accurate work under time constraints.

    * Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical documentation (training provided if required).

    * Comfortable supporting and mentoring junior colleagues, particularly within CAD teams.

    * UK driving licence (desired) for site visits
