How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Electronics Design Authority

    Location: Welwyn Garden City
    Salary: £50,000 – £60,000

    A leading engineering organisation is seeking an Electronics Design Authority to lead the technical development, certification and in-service support of a complex, safety-critical electronics subsystem. Acting as the design authority, you'll own the functional and physical design structure and ensure every aspect of the product can be verified, validated and accepted into the wider system capability.

    This is a broad, high-engagement role spanning system design, software engineering, electronics and mechanical engineering, in-service reliability, safety and cybersecurity. You'll ensure the hardware and software design continues to evolve to meet overall system capability requirements, while developing your expertise and that of the wider team.

    Key responsibilities:

    * Provide design leadership for a complex electronics subsystem across its full lifecycle.

    * Own the functional and physical design baseline, ensuring the product can be verified, validated and certified.

    * Manage technical risks and opportunities in line with product development requirements.

    * Lead requirements engineering at system, subsystem and component level to support product evolution and certification.

    * Validate test procedures and gather the evidence needed to certify the product.

    * Build strong relationships with product design stakeholders across multiple disciplines.

    What we're looking for (experience or a desire to develop in these areas):

    * Design leadership for complex electronics subsystems.

    * Strong grounding in systems engineering principles, processes and practices.

    * Requirements engineering at system, subsystem or component level.

    * Broad knowledge of hardware and software design and build for computer-based electronics equipment.

    * Ability to define and validate verification and certification test procedures.

    * Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
