How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

We are recruiting confident, resilient and down-to-earth staff to work within a specialist alternative education setting supporting children and young people with significant trauma and behavioural needs.

This is a highly practical, relationship-led environment where staff play a key role in creating safety, structure, and positive engagement for learners who may have experienced disrupted education and complex social, emotional and mental health needs.

Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)

    The Role

    We are seeking staff for:

    Full-time, long-term positions
    Day-to-day / flexible supply cover

You will be working with secondary-aged learners (and on some days primary-aged pupils during transition provision), supporting engagement in learning, behaviour regulation, and structured activities.

    The setting includes:

Breakout rooms for core learning (Maths & English)
A sports-based engagement approach including a boxing ring for structured physical activity
    Trauma-informed behaviour support systems
    Working Hours
    Monday to Friday
    9:30am - 2:30pm
    What You'll Be Doing
Building strong, consistent relationships with pupils
Supporting learners with emotional regulation and behaviour management
Delivering and supporting structured activities, including sports-based interventions
Encouraging engagement in Maths and English sessions
Providing calm, confident, consistent adult presence throughout the day
Working as part of a team to maintain a safe, supportive environment
    What We're Looking For
Experience working with challenging behaviour is essential
Background in sports, coaching, fitness, or physical activity is highly desirable and considered important
Confident, grounded personality with strong communication skills
Ability to remain calm and consistent in high-pressure situations
Genuine commitment to building trust with young people
Team players who are reliable, flexible, and proactive
    Dress Code
Sportswear must be worn daily (practical, active clothing suitable for physical engagement and movement-based work)
The Right Fit for This Role

    This role suits people who:

Are confident working with complex behaviour
    Enjoy active, hands-on environments
Can build rapport quickly with young people who may struggle to trust adults
Are consistent, fair, and resilient in approach
Prefer practical engagement over traditional classroom teaching styles
