How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Ocean Export Coordinator

    Bristol | Up to £36,000 + Benefits

Operating for almost three decades, they have built an outstanding reputation for delivering a premium, customer-focused service. With a strong international network, advanced shipping processes, and a commitment to quality, they continue to be recognised as a leader within their sector.

Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Ocean Export Coordinator to join their Bristol-based operations team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with ocean freight forwarding, export shipping, international removals, or logistics experience who enjoys taking ownership of shipments from booking through to final delivery while providing exceptional customer service throughout the process.

    What's on Offer?

Salary up to £36,000 depending on experience
    30 Days Holiday
    Monday-Friday 09:00-17:30
    Company pension scheme
Stable, long-term career opportunity with a well-established business
    Friendly and supportive working environment
Genuine autonomy and responsibility within your role
Opportunity to develop specialist expertise in international shipping and relocation logistics
Exposure to global supply chains and international freight networks
A business that invests heavily in service quality, operational efficiency, and customer experience

    The Role

As Ocean Export Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing international export shipments from start to finish, ensuring customers receive a seamless and professional service throughout their relocation journey.

    Key Responsibilities

Manage ocean export shipments from booking through to final destination delivery
Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the shipping process
Liaise with shipping lines, overseas agents, and international partners to secure bookings and manage schedules
Prepare and issue shipping instructions and Bills of Lading
Complete export customs declarations using HMRC CDS
Monitor shipment progress and proactively communicate updates to customers
Coordinate customs clearance and final delivery arrangements with overseas partners
Produce customer invoices using internal systems
Maintain accurate shipment records and documentation
Resolve operational issues quickly and professionally to minimise disruption to customers
Ensure all shipments are handled in line with company procedures and compliance requirements

    About You

We are looking for an organised and customer-focused export professional who can confidently manage multiple shipments while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

    Essential Requirements

Minimum 2 years' experience within ocean freight forwarding, export shipping, logistics, or international removals
Strong understanding of ocean export procedures and shipping documentation
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Strong organisational and time management abilities
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Good IT skills including Microsoft Office
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment

    Desirable Experience

Experience preparing Bills of Lading and shipping instructions
Experience working with shipping lines, NVOCCs, and overseas agents
Experience handling both FCL and LCL shipments
Knowledge of customs procedures and export compliance
Experience within household goods, relocation, or international removals sectors

    Why Join?

This is not a traditional freight forwarding role.

You'll be part of a specialist operation where every shipment is unique and where customer service is just as important as operational excellence. The business prides itself on providing a premium end-to-end service, combining logistics expertise with a personal approach that customers genuinely value.

With regular global sailings, established international partnerships, advanced customs capabilities, and a reputation built over nearly 30 years, this is an opportunity to join a company that continues to set high standards within the international shipping and relocation sector.

If you're an experienced Ocean Export Coordinator looking for a role where you can take ownership of shipments, build strong customer relationships, and develop your career within a growing specialist business, we'd love to hear from you.
