How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Build Projects That Shape Communities

    Are you a Site Engineer looking to work on a diverse range of civil engineering and construction projects across the Highlands? Would you enjoy being involved in projects that leave a lasting impact on local communities, including schools, retail developments, commercial facilities and wider infrastructure schemes?

    Our client is a well-established and growing civil engineering contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects throughout the Inverness and Morayshire region. Due to continued growth and a healthy project pipeline, they are seeking a Site Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. A temporary contract option may also be considered for the right candidate.

    What You'll Be Working OnAs a Site Engineer, you'll play a key role in the successful delivery of a variety of projects, including:

    New-build schools and educational facilities
    Retail and commercial developments
    Infrastructure and civil engineering works
    Public sector projects
    Groundworks, drainage and external works packagesYou'll be involved from project start through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately and to the highest standards.

    Your Key Responsibilities
    Setting out works in accordance with drawings and specifications.
    Managing and maintaining site control and survey data using modern surveying equipment.
    Ensuring quality assurance procedures are followed and documented.
    Producing and maintaining accurate site records, reports and as-built information.
    Liaising closely with Site Managers, Project Managers, subcontractors and clients.
    Monitoring progress and identifying potential issues before they impact programme delivery.
    Supporting the commercial team with measurement and valuation information where required.
    Promoting and maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance on site.You'll Be a Great Fit If You Have
    Previous experience working as a Site Engineer within civil engineering, groundworks or construction projects.
    Proficiency with setting out equipment such as Leica, Trimble or Topcon.
    Experience interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
    Strong understanding of QA procedures and site documentation.
    Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with project stakeholders.
    A valid UK driving licence.
    Relevant engineering qualification (HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent).Desirable Experience
    Experience delivering education, retail or commercial construction projects.
    Knowledge of AutoCAD and surveying software.
    CSCS card and relevant site certifications.What You'll Receive
