How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    You must a full UK driving licence as a company vehicle will be supplied**

    Position good to knows

    Working both on your own and in a team across an organisations contracts, offices, properties and sites where you will be driving a van and be required to be manually hands on.

    You will be covering communal external ground maintenance in Slough

    Your key duties

    You will be responsible for the upkeep of the external communal areas, grass, shrubs and hedges. You may also be required to undertake soft landscaping/minor tree work.

    Main duties and responsibilities for this role include grass and hedge cutting, border maintenance, clearing leaves, spraying, litter picking, and using hand tools and powered horticultural machinery to ensure all sites and external areas are maintained to a high standard.

    You will report to management with relevant information regarding site hazards, operate a range of vehicles, machinery and equipment in accordance with health and safety procedures, and undertake additional training as and when required.

    What’s needed from you

    ✔ UK driving licence

    ✔ Awareness of using a large wheelbase van and ideally towing licence/experience (desirable)

    ✔ Practical amenity horticultural knowledge & experience

    ✔ PA1 and PA6AW qualifications (desirable, but not essential)

    ✔ NPTC certification or equivalent (desirable, but not essential)

    ✔ Physically fit and able to lift and move materials

    ✔ Good timekeeping

    ✔ An outgoing customer service approach

    ✔ Good communication skills

    ✔ Adaptability

    ✔ Operate a handheld PDA to log visits - training will be given

    ✔ Ability to work well in a team environment

    ✔ Able to take direction also work on your own initiative

    Hours and pay

    ✔ 40 Hours per week

    ✔ Hourly paid (PAYE + holiday pay)
