How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Description:

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Design Manager to lead and develop a growing engineering team within a thriving renewable energy business.

    This Design Manager position combines hands-on technical design work with team leadership responsibilities. The successful Design Manager will oversee a team of engineers, review and approve designs, improve processes and help shape the future of the department.

    As Design Manager, you will take ownership of design quality, technical compliance and project delivery across commercial renewable energy projects. You will also work closely with senior leadership to introduce stronger construction-focused design controls, documentation processes and best practice standards.

    The Design Manager will manage DNO submissions, planning support, design reviews and construction-ready documentation while ensuring projects remain practical, compliant and buildable.

    This role would suit a commercially minded electrical design professional who enjoys both technical problem solving and people leadership. The successful Design Manager will play a major role in growing the department and developing future engineering talent.

    Skills & Experience:

    * Previous Design Manager, Lead Design Engineer or Senior Design Engineer experience.

    * Commercial electrical design background.

    * Team leadership or management experience.

    * Understanding of UK electrical regulations.

    * DNO application experience.

    * Design review and approval experience.

    * Renewable energy experience advantageous.
