How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Role: Automation Engineer
    Salary: Up to £45,000 DOE + Door to Door + Van (personal use permitted @ 40p per mile)
    Location: London & Surrounding Areas
    Shift: 37.5 hours per week (08:00–16:00)
    Overtime: Offered at 1.5x / 2x (minimum 8 hours OT paid for scheduled out-of-hours work)
    On Call: 1 in 9 rota (£25 per day standby + overtime rates + D2D)

    Are you an experienced Automation Engineer specialising in automatic door systems looking to join a growing engineering team? My client is expanding and looking to add a skilled engineer to support installation and service work across London and surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist automation business delivering high-quality entrance solutions across commercial buildings, healthcare sites, retail environments and public sector projects.

    As an Automation Engineer you will be responsible for:
    Installing, servicing and maintaining automated door systems
    Diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults
    Carrying out planned maintenance and reactive breakdown work
    Working with sensors, control panels and safety systems
    Supporting other automation systems including shutters, gates and bollards (desirable)
    Ensuring all work is completed safely and to compliance standards

    The successful Automation Engineer will have the following experience:
    Strong experience with automated door systems (essential)
    Installation, servicing and maintenance experience required
    Strong electrical fault-finding ability
    Knowledge of wider automation systems advantageous
    Ability to work independently on field-based work
    Full UK driving licence

    The Automation Engineer will receive an excellent remuneration package which includes:
    Up to £45,000 DOE
    Door-to-door pay
    Company van (personal use permitted @ 40p per mile)
    25 days holiday + Bank Holidays + Birthday off
    On-call rota (1 in 9) with standby and OT enhancements
    Enhanced overtime rates (1.5x / 2x)
    Long-term stability with progression opportunities
