How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

We are seeking a Lead Process Engineer to join a multidisciplinary design team delivering clean water infrastructure projects. You will develop and deliver process engineering solutions focused on optimised asset performance, standardised design, and compliance with industry engineering standards.

This is a long term contract, outside ir35.

In this role, you will be responsible for the process design of clean water pumping stations, chemical dosing systems, and associated control systems. This includes hydraulic analysis, process calculations, equipment selection, and development of control philosophies. You will also contribute to SCADA integration, commissioning support, and technical evaluation of supplier proposals.

A strong focus of the role is ensuring safe-by-design principles are embedded across all work, including participation in HAZOP, LOPA, and DSEAR studies, in line with CDM regulations and industry best practice.

You will play a key part in delivering high-quality engineering outputs, maintaining technical assurance, and ensuring alignment with project standards and governance. The role also requires collaboration across design, modelling, control strategy, and commissioning teams to ensure coordinated delivery and effective problem solving.

    Requirements:

Degree (or equivalent experience) in water, wastewater, or process engineering discipline
Experience in process engineering within water treatment and/or control systems
Strong technical understanding of hydraulics and process design
Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams
    Strong communication and problem-solving skills
    Desirable:

Postgraduate qualification (e.g. MSc or CIWEM)
    Professional body membership
Experience with SCADA and commissioning integration
    Strong IT skills
Only those with right to work in the UK should apply for this role
