How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced materials, inventory, or supply chain professional to join a growing manufacturing business and play a key role in ensuring the efficient planning, control, and flow of materials across the organisation.

The Materials Controller will be responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels, supporting production requirements, and ensuring materials are available when needed whilst balancing stock investment and operational efficiency. This role will also take ownership of developing and continuously improving material planning processes, inventory controls, and reporting systems, while supporting ongoing enhancements to SAP and MRP capabilities.

    Key Responsibilities
-Manage and maintain the MRP system to ensure materials and components are available to meet production schedules and customer demand.
-Plan, monitor, and control inventory levels, balancing material availability with stock investment, waste reduction, and obsolescence management.
-Raise, manage, and track purchase orders, monitor supplier performance, and proactively resolve material shortages or delivery delays.
-Develop accurate material forecasts based on production plans, sales demand, and operational requirements.
-Maintain accurate stock records and support stock control activities through regular analysis, audits, and reporting.
-Collaborate closely with Procurement, Transport, Depot, Production, and Supplier teams to ensure the seamless flow of materials throughout the business.
-Monitor and report on key inventory, material usage, and operational KPIs, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
-Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on stock accuracy, inventory optimisation, and operational efficiency.
-Support SAP planning functionality, data integrity, and future MRP development projects.
-Contribute to the development of best practices within materials management and supply chain operations.

    About You:
-Previous experience in material planning, inventory control, production planning, or supply chain roles within a manufacturing environment.
-Strong working knowledge of MRP and ERP systems, ideally SAP.
-Solid understanding of inventory management, purchasing, and supply chain principles.
-Advanced Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills.
-Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
-Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
-A proactive approach to continuous improvement and process optimisation.
