How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Identifying value engineering opportunities and tracking site variations

    * Ensuring all works are delivered in line with design, specification, and quality requirements

    * Creating, implementing, and managing Inspection and Test Plans

    * Maintaining accurate site diaries, progress reports, and daily/weekly briefings

    * Liaising with clients, local authorities, subcontractors, and key stakeholders to support smooth project delivery and handover

    The Candidate

    The successful candidate will have previous experience working in a Site Agent, Site Manager, or similar role within the highways sector.

    You will ideally have:

    * Experience delivering highways schemes within local authority or national framework environments

    * Strong knowledge of CDM regulations and site health and safety procedures

    * Experience producing and briefing RAMS, WPPs, Task Briefings, and ITPs

    * Ability to manage site teams, subcontractors, resources, and programme requirements

    * Commercial awareness, including cost monitoring, variations, and budget support

    * Working knowledge of NEC contracts

    * Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders

    * Flexibility to work or manage night shifts when required

    * A proactive, organised, and delivery-focused approach

    Package

    * Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 depending on experience

    * 10% car allowance or company van/car.

    * 3% 0- 6% pension contributions.

    * Annual profit share bonus once 12 months are completed.

    * 25 days annual leave including 7 at Christmas.

    * 8 bank holidays.

    * North West and Cumbria-based schemes

    * Opportunity to work on established highways frameworks

    * Long-term career development within a busy infrastructure environment
