How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Quantity Surveyor

    Location: City of London

    Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 (dependant of level experience) + package

    A leading civil engineering and demolition contractor based in Central London is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team.

    This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of complex projects across multiple high-profile sectors, delivering commercially successful outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

    The Company

    This well-established contractor specialises in delivering challenging projects across demolition, enabling works, and civil engineering. With a strong reputation for quality and safety, they operate across a wide range of sectors including Commercial, Industrial, Nuclear, Infrastructure & Rail.

    The Role

    As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account. You will be responsible for ensuring financial control, maximising value, and maintaining strong client relationships.

    Key Responsibilities

    Manage project costs from inception to completion
    Procurement and management of subcontractor packages
    Valuations, variations, and final accounts
    Cost reporting and forecasting
    Risk and value management
    Liaising with clients, project teams, and stakeholders
    Project Scope Includes

    Demolition
    Asbestos removal
    Earthworks
    Enabling works
    Requirements

    Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or demolition
    Strong commercial awareness and contractual knowledge
    Experience working across complex, multi-disciplinary projects
    Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
    Relevant degree or equivalent qualification (preferred)
