How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Are you an experienced Groundworker or Civil Construction professional looking to step off site and into education?

Do you want to move into a rewarding role where you can help build a new Groundworks Academy, train site-ready learners, and shape the next generation of construction professionals?

Join a forward-thinking College with ambitious plans to grow its Groundworks and Construction provision. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing a new academy, supporting apprenticeship delivery, and helping learners gain the practical skills needed to succeed on site.

As a Groundworks Lecturer, you'll primarily support Groundworks apprenticeships while also delivering intensive Groundworks bootcamps. You'll work with mainly 19+ learners, delivering practical and theory-based training across core groundworks skills including setting out, ground preparation, drainage, kerbing, slabbing, block paving, patios, services, site safety, and working safely around plant and underground services.

Support learners with CSCS-related knowledge and health and safety awareness.
Build employer relationships and support future provision growth.
Work with group sizes of around 16 learners.
    Monday to Thursday, 8:30am - 5:00pm, with a 4:30pm finish on Fridays.
Full teacher training and ongoing development provided.
Long-term opportunity to help grow and shape the academy.
    The person:

    Occupationally competent in Groundworks.
Hands-on experience physically working as a Groundworker.
