The Dispensing Optician will assist members in ordering eyeglasses.
The duties will include:
Assisting members in choosing eyeglass frames and lens options according to the lens prescription
Measuring members’ pupillary distance
Processing orders including payment
Checking contact lenses and completed eyeglasses against prescription prior to dispensing
Fitting and adjusting eyeglasses to member
Ordering and stocking equipment, merchandise and supplies.
Ensuring the department is kept clean and tidy
Overseeing apprentices as required
To be suitable for the Dispensing Optician role you will:
Hold a BSC in dispensing Optics approved by the GOC
Be a registered dispensing optician with the GOC
Be service oriented – experienced in ‘going the extra mile’
Energetic and familiar with working in a fast-paced environment
