How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior Social Worker – Child Assessment Team (CAT)

    Lambeth | Locum | £39.04 per hour | Hybrid Working

    Lambeth Council is seeking experienced Senior Social Workers to join their Child Assessment Team (CAT). This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy frontline service managing referrals, assessments, and safeguarding interventions to ensure children receive the right support at the earliest opportunity.

    The team requires practitioners who can start as soon as possible and who are confident working within a fast-paced assessment environment. Candidates must be able to attend the office at least twice per week and be able to commute independently, as there is no on-site parking available.

    In this role, you will:

    Undertake Child and Family Assessments

    Complete Section 17 and Section 47 enquiries and investigations

    Manage Child in Need and Child Protection cases during the assessment phase

    Assess risk and develop outcome-focused plans for children and families

    Undertake direct work with children to understand their lived experiences and needs

    Lead and participate in strategy discussions and multi-agency meetings

    Progress cases through pre-proceedings and court processes where required

    Prepare high-quality assessments, reports, and court documentation

    Maintain accurate and timely case recordings

    Work effectively within a busy duty and assessment environment

    What You’ll Need:

    Social Work England Registration

    Social Work Qualification

    Minimum 3 years' recent Child Assessment Team (CAT) experience

    Strong Child in Need and Child Protection experience

    Court work and pre-proceedings experience

    Ability to manage complex safeguarding cases confidently

    Resilient, committed, and able to work in a fast-paced service

    Able to attend the office at least 2 days per week

    Ability to commute independently to the office location
