How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Tuition Centre Manager

    Hornchurch & Upminster Region

    £38,000 Basic Salary + 8% Commission

Escape the Classroom While Still Making a Difference

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced education professional to manage and grow established tuition centres within the Hornchurch and Upminster area.

Our client is one of the UK's leading providers of personalised Maths, English and Science tuition programmes aligned to the National Curriculum. With increasing demand from parents seeking additional educational support, they are looking for an ambitious Centre Manager to lead existing centres and drive future growth.

This role offers the opportunity to remain in education while stepping away from the traditional classroom environment. Supported by a dedicated Head Office and full marketing team, you will focus on delivering outstanding educational outcomes, building relationships with families, managing staff and increasing student enrolment.

Please note that this role primarily operates during evenings and weekends, reflecting the out-of-school hours nature of tuition services.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and performance of existing tuition centres.

    * Conduct educational assessments to identify each student's strengths, learning gaps and individual needs.

    * Design personalised learning plans using high-quality educational programmes and resources.

    * Monitor student progress and adapt learning programmes where necessary.

    * Build strong relationships with parents, providing regular feedback on student development.

    * Handle enquiries from prospective families and convert these into new student enrolments.

    * Drive centre growth by increasing student numbers and supporting business development initiatives.

    * Manage, recruit and train a small team of Teaching Assistants and centre staff.

    * Coordinate class schedules and staff rotas to ensure the smooth running of sessions.

    * Develop relationships with local schools and community organisations to raise awareness of the centres.

    * Support parents with any concerns, queries or complaints in a professional manner.

    * Liaise with Head Office teams including marketing, administration, finance and HR to ensure operational excellence.

    Key Skills and Experience

    * Previous experience within the education or tutoring sector is essential.

    * Experience working for a tuition centre, learning centre or educational franchise would be highly advantageous.

    * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant teaching experience is desirable.

    * Strong Maths and English proficiency.

    * A genuine passion for helping children achieve their full potential.

    * Excellent communication and customer service skills, with experience engaging with parents from diverse backgrounds.

    * Strong organisational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

    * Comfortable leading a team and motivating others to achieve excellent results.

    * Commercially minded and ambitious, with a passion for growing existing centres and increasing student numbers.

    * Confident using standard office software and computer systems.

    What's on Offer

    * £38,000 basic salary

    * 8% commission structure with excellent earning potential

    * Opportunity to manage and grow established tuition centres

    * Full support from an experienced Head Office and dedicated marketing team

    * The chance to remain in education while progressing into a leadership role

    * A rewarding position where you can make a real difference to children's educational outcomes while contributing to business growth

If you have an educational background, leadership potential and the ambition to develop successful tuition centres, this is an excellent opportunity to take the next step in your career
