How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Key Responsibilities

Lead and promote a positive health, safety and wellbeing culture across the project.

Provide professional support and guidance to operational and functional teams.

Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation, regulations and industry guidance, including CDM requirements.

Undertake inspections, audits, assurance activities and leadership tours across site operations.

Lead incident investigations and implement robust corrective and preventative actions.

Monitor, analyse and report on safety performance, trends and key metrics.

Present health and safety performance updates to senior management teams.

Build strong relationships and effectively manage multiple subcontractor and contractor interfaces.

Support continuous improvement initiatives and drive best practice throughout project delivery.

Act as a visible leader, promoting behavioural safety and high standards across all project activities.

    About You

We are looking for a proactive and experienced Health & Safety professional with a strong background delivering major infrastructure or complex construction projects.

    Essential Requirements

Detailed technical knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, regulations and guidance.

Minimum of 7 years' Health & Safety experience within construction or an equivalent sector.

Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Health & Safety Manager position.

Experience working on major infrastructure, civil engineering, rail, highways, utilities or large-scale construction projects.

Proven experience managing multiple subcontractors and contractor interfaces.

Strong experience leading incident investigations and implementing corrective actions.

Experience undertaking audits, inspections, assurance activities and leadership tours.

Ability to present safety performance and trends to senior leadership teams.
