How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Duct Cleaning Operative
    Location: Southend-on-Sea
    Job Type: Permanent
    Hours: Circa 35 hours per week + overtime available
    Salary: Up to £26,377.87 per annum
    Overtime: Paid at time and a half
    Shifts: Varied (days, evenings, nights, and occasional weekends)
    IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS (MUST BE MET):
    - Full UK driving licence required
    - DBS check required
    - Full 5-year employment history must be provided and verifiable
    An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Duct Cleaning Operative to join a specialist environmental hygiene and building compliance team. This is a great opportunity for a reliable and motivated individual looking to develop a long-term career within a technical services environment, with full training provided.
    Role Overview
    You will be responsible for delivering a range of environmental hygiene services across commercial sites, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required specification.
    Key Responsibilities
    * Cleaning and maintaining ventilation (duct) systems
    * Water tank cleaning, refurbishment, and coating works
    * Kitchen extract system cleaning and fire safety compliance
    * Ensuring all contracted work is completed to a high standard and within deadlines
    * Working as part of a mobile site-based team
    Requirements
    Essential:
    * Full UK driving licence
    * Flexible approach to working varied shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends)
    * Ability to work in physically demanding environments
    * Strong work ethic and reliability
    * Willingness to complete 5-year referencing checks
    * Must be willing to undergo a DBS check
    Desirable:
    * Previous experience in duct cleaning or industrial cleaning (training provided for suitable candidates)
