How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Scaffolding Estimator to join a successful and expanding scaffolding contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects across multiple sectors.

We're seeking a commercially minded individual who can confidently manage the estimating process from initial enquiry through to tender submission. While the business is based in Norwich, applications are welcomed from candidates across the UK, with the expectation of attending the office once a week.

This role offers far more than just a position within an established business. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to play a key part in the continued growth of the estimating function, with a clear pathway into senior leadership. For the right individual, there is genuine potential to progress into management and, ultimately, director-level positions as the business continues to evolve.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Produce accurate and competitive estimates for a range of scaffolding projects.

    * Analyse tender documentation, drawings, specifications, and client requirements.

    * Prepare material, labour, and plant cost calculations.

    * Submit quotations and tender returns within required deadlines.

    * Liaise with operational teams, suppliers, and clients to ensure all estimates are comprehensive and commercially viable.

    * Identify project risks and opportunities to improve cost efficiency.

    * Support the wider team in securing and converting new business opportunities.

    * Contribute to the future development and growth of the estimating department.

    Candidate Requirements

    * Proven experience in a Scaffolding Estimator position.

    * Strong knowledge of scaffolding products, systems, and industry standards.

    * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and tender information.

    * Excellent numerical skills and a keen eye for detail.

    * Strong communication and negotiation abilities.

    * Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant estimating systems.

    * Ability to work independently and manage multiple tenders simultaneously.

    * Ambition and a desire to develop into a leadership role over time.

    The Opportunity

    * Join an established business experiencing continued growth.

    * Flexible location with nationwide applications encouraged.

    * Weekly office presence in Norwich to collaborate with the wider team.

    * Competitive remuneration package tailored to experience.

    * A genuine opportunity to shape the future of the estimating department.

    * Clear progression into senior management for high performers.

    * Long-term potential to advance into director-level leadership within the business.

If you're an experienced Scaffolding Estimator looking for a role that offers both flexibility and genuine career progression, we'd be keen to speak with you. Apply now for a confidential discussion and take the next step towards a leadership position within a thriving organisation
