How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Hours: Full Time | Monday-Friday

I am recruiting on behalf of a children's residential care provider for two Registered Managers to lead two therapeutic 2-bed children's homes located in Swinton and Crumpsall, Manchester.

These are excellent opportunities for passionate and ambitious childcare leaders looking to manage small, nurturing services where the focus is on therapeutic care, stability, safeguarding and positive outcomes for children and young people.

Each home has been designed to provide a safe, supportive environment where children can build trust, develop resilience and thrive.

    The Role

As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of your home, ensuring the highest standards of care, compliance and safeguarding are maintained.

You will lead and develop your team, create a positive culture and ensure children receive outstanding care and support.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Hold Ofsted registration and overall responsibility for the home.

    • Ensure compliance with Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.

    • Lead safeguarding practices and promote a culture of safety.

    • Recruit, supervise, mentor and develop staff.

    • Oversee care planning, risk assessments and placement management.

    • Maintain excellent standards of record keeping and regulatory documentation.

    • Ensure the home remains inspection-ready at all times.

    • Build strong relationships with local authorities and external professionals.

    • Manage budgets, resources and occupancy effectively.

    • Drive continuous improvement and positive outcomes for children and young people.

    Requirements

    • Experience within children's residential care.

    • Previous experience as a Registered Manager, Deputy Manager or Assistant Manager within an Ofsted-regulated children's home.

    • Strong understanding of Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.

    • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).

    • Excellent safeguarding knowledge.

    • Strong leadership and people management skills.

    • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

    What's on Offer

    • Salary of £50,000.

    • Monday-Friday working pattern.

    • Small therapeutic homes with a child-centred approach.

    • Supportive senior leadership structure.

    • Opportunity to shape and develop high-quality services.

    • Ongoing professional development and career progression opportunities.

If you are passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people and have the leadership skills to build and maintain an outstanding service, I would love to hear from you
