How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Oversee system design and take a leading role

Cambridge, hybrid work; to £80,000 DoE

Finance without the pressure? This US tech firm’s Cambridge R&D office makes use of dynamic, high-speed FPGA RTL logic to achieve automated trades in nanoseconds. They offer hybrid working and the classic, relaxed and productive office environment you will be used to in Cambridge tech.

The role gives the chance to:

    * Take the lead and oversee all aspects of FPGA systems’ design

    * Pursue superior technical approaches to the problem

    * Collaborate with software engineers working in Rust and C++

    * See your work put to productive use without a long lead time

You would be joining a friendly, senior team of engineers in their north Cambridge offices, easy to cycle to and with plenty of parking. Work from home two days per week, or come to the office with flexible hours, placing an order for your favourite food and drink and snacks. Of course there is rather more to the package: remuneration is tailored depending on your experience.

Interested? You will naturally have a strong relevant CV with significant commercial-grade experience, demonstrating your skills with Vivado / Quartus and SystemVerilog, Verilog or VHDL. Send it to ECM where it will receive close confidential review. We do read every CV, and try to respond to everyone.

Another top job from ECM, the high-tech recruitment experts.

Even if this job's not quite right, do contact us now - we may well have the ideal job for you. To discuss your requirements call ecm or email your CV. We will always ask before forwarding your CV.

Please apply (quoting ref: CV27657) only if you are eligible to live and work in the UK. By submitting your details you certify that the information you provide is accurate
