How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Compliance Officer - Fire Safety

    Nottingham

    £40,087 - £45,044 per annum

    Here at Nottingham Community Housing Association (NCHA), we have an exciting opportunity to join our friendly and supportive team as a Compliance Contracts Officer.

    Our team plays a vital role in ensuring our homes meet all fire safety and regulatory standards, helping to keep our customers safe. This is a varied and rewarding role where you will support the delivery of fire compliance across our housing portfolio.

    What you’ll be doing

    As a Compliance Contracts Officer, your responsibilities will include:

    * Overseeing fire safety programmes, including Fire Risk Assessments and Fire Door Inspections

    * Monitoring compliance activity and ensuring works are completed within required timescales

    * Logging, maintaining, and managing compliance records in line with policy and regulation

    * Identifying and escalating risks or instances of non-compliance

    * Supporting procurement and contract management processes

    * Monitoring contractor performance and ensuring service standards are met

    * Carrying out pre- and post-inspections of compliance works

    * Supporting wider maintenance and refurbishment works linked to fire safety

    Working pattern

    * 35 hours per week

    * Monday to Friday (core daytime hours)

    * Flexible and hybrid working opportunities

    We’re looking for someone who is:

    * Experienced in a fire compliance or housing compliance role

    * Knowledgeable in the ‘Big 6’ areas of compliance

    * Highly organised, with strong attention to detail

    * Able to analyse information, apply policy, and make sound decisions

    * A confident communicator who can work effectively with a range of stakeholders

    * A full UK driving licence is required
