How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

SENCO – Permanent Leadership Opportunity in Bromley

A well-established and highly regarded secondary academy in Bromley is seeking a SENCO to join its leadership team from September. This is a permanent, full-time position offering the opportunity to lead an experienced inclusion team within a school known for its strong pastoral care, ambitious curriculum, and commitment to ensuring every pupil can succeed. The school serves a diverse community and has built a reputation for creating a calm, purposeful environment where students feel supported and challenged in equal measure. For an experienced SENCO or an aspiring inclusion leader ready for their next step, this role offers genuine scope to shape provision and influence whole-school practice.

Staff speak positively about the collaborative culture and the accessibility of senior leaders, who maintain a visible presence across the school. Professional development is carefully planned, with leadership training and specialist SEND development available throughout the year. Inclusion sits at the heart of the school's improvement strategy, ensuring the SENCO has both influence and support when driving initiatives. The successful SENCO will work closely with teaching staff, external agencies, and families to strengthen outcomes for students with additional needs across all year groups.

    Key Highlights:

    * SENCO – permanent, full-time leadership role

    * Salary paid on MPS1–UPS3 scale plus SEN Allowance (£38,766 – £60,092 + SEN Allowance)

    * Bromley location with excellent transport connections across South East London and Kent

    * Good-rated secondary academy with a strong reputation for inclusion and pastoral care

    * September 2026 start date

    * Permanent contract offering long-term career progression

    * Dedicated inclusion team already in place, including specialist support staff

    What You'll Be Doing:

    * Leading the strategic development of SEND provision across the school

    * Coordinating EHCP reviews, annual reviews, and statutory processes

    * Monitoring student progress and implementing targeted interventions where required

    * Advising teachers on adaptive teaching strategies and inclusive classroom practice

    * Collaborating with parents, carers, and external professionals to secure positive outcomes

    * Evaluating provision regularly to ensure compliance and continuous improvement

Ideal Candidate for this Bromley School:

    * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with successful classroom teaching experience

    * Holds the National Award for SEN Coordination or is willing to complete it

    * Demonstrates strong knowledge of SEND legislation and statutory responsibilities

    * Possesses excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities

    * Builds productive relationships with staff, families, and external agencies

    * Maintains high expectations for achievement, attendance, and inclusion

    Why Join this Bromley School?

    * Established reputation for nurturing students with a wide range of additional needs

    * Purposeful behaviour culture that allows staff to focus on teaching and support

    * Experienced senior leadership team that values specialist inclusion expertise

    * Strong partnerships with local services, educational psychologists, and support agencies

    * Investment in leadership development for middle and senior leaders

    * Broad and ambitious curriculum designed to ensure accessibility for all learners

    How to Apply:

Applications are being reviewed ahead of the September start date, with interviews arranged as suitable candidates are identified. If this SENCO position aligns with your experience and ambitions, apply through this listing to be considered.

This SENCO role offers the chance to lead meaningful whole-school inclusion work while remaining closely connected to students, families, and classroom practice. Opportunities combining strategic influence, stability, and professional growth are increasingly rare, making this a particularly attractive move for the right candidate
