How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A well-established construction and property consultancy are seeking an experienced Associate Director Building Surveyor to join their growing Manchester team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Building Surveyor looking to take on a leadership position within a successful consultancy environment. The Building Surveyor will lead client relationships, oversee project delivery, contribute to business development initiatives and support the growth of the Building Surveyor team. The successful Building Surveyor will work across a diverse commercial property portfolio while helping to shape the future direction of the business.

    The Role

    As the Associate Director Building Surveyor, you will take responsibility for leading projects, managing client accounts and supporting wider business objectives.

    The role will include:

    * Developing and maintaining strong client relationships and securing repeat business opportunities
    * Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities across existing and new sectors
    * Delivering professional and project-led building surveying instructions
    * Managing complex projects from inception through to completion
    * Providing leadership, guidance and mentoring to junior team members
    * Supporting team performance and contributing to business planning objectives
    * Collaborating with colleagues to identify opportunities for additional services

    The Associate Director Building Surveyor?

    You will be an experienced and commercially minded individual with a proven track record within a consultancy environment. Applications from candidates without relevant Building Surveying experience will not be considered.

    The Associate Director Building Surveyor must have:

    * Degree qualified in Building Surveying or a related property discipline
    * Membership of a recognised professional body such as RICS, CIOB or APM preferred
    * Experience delivering commercial building surveying projects and professional instructions
    * Proven ability to develop and manage client relationships
    * Strong technical knowledge across commercial property and construction projects
    * Experience managing complex projects for both public and private sector clients
    * Ability to generate new business opportunities and develop existing accounts
    * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
