Quality, Health & Safety Manager

We are working with a well-established engineering manufacturer to recruit a Quality & Health & Safety Manager. This is a key senior appointment created due to retirement, offering full ownership of quality and H&S systems across the business.
The Role
You will take responsibility for both Quality and Health & Safety across the site, ensuring compliance, consistency, and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading quality inspection processes and ensuring product compliance
* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to support manufacturing standards
* Managing ISO systems (including audits, documentation, and ongoing compliance)
* Driving health & safety standards across production, including hot work environments (press, forge, foundry)
* Investigating and resolving quality and safety issues, implementing preventative actions
* Working closely with production teams to embed best practice on the shop floor
* Maintaining accurate records and reporting using IT systems and quality databases
This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring someone confident working across both operational and strategic levels. You’ll need to influence teams, challenge standards when required, and drive continuous improvement.
About You
We are looking for someone who can bring both technical knowledge and strong leadership presence:
* Proven experience in quality inspection, auditing, and health & safety
* Strong understanding of ISO standards and compliance management
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings confidently
* Hands-on approach with strong IT literacy (reporting and systems management)
* Excellent communication skills with the confidence to challenge and influence
* Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment essential
