How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Disadvantaged Student Coordinator
    Location: Wymondham College
    Salary: FTE: £26,403-£28,142 per annum, Pro-rata £13,923-£15,104 per annum, including an allowance for holiday pay
    Vacancy Type: Fixed term until 31st August 2027, 25 hours per week, Term-time only
    Wymondham College has over 400 staff dedicated to supporting World Class education. The College currently is one of the top State Schools in the Country and is recognised as one of the highest performing State Schools in the East of England, this is backed up by its most recent Ofsted inspections which rated the College as Outstanding in both Education and Boarding 2023.
    The College is focused on providing outstanding quality to their students and staff not only in education but also through its provision of exceptional facilities and accommodation on site across its 83-acre campus.
    We are looking for a Disadvantaged Student Coordinator who is hard working, enthusiastic and able to communicate effectively as part of our school community. The role involves providing high quality administrative and operational support for disadvantaged students.
    Person Specification

    The ability to communicate clearly and tactfully using appropriate methods and an awareness of the impact of your own communication on others;
    Able to maintain positive relationships with all and able to work as an effective and flexible part of a team; willing to change methods of work and routines to benefit the team;
    Awareness of the importance of targeted intervention and accurate record keeping.
    Understanding of confidentiality, GDPR and secure data handling.
    Awareness of safeguarding responsibilities and procedures within schools.
    Be able to multi-task and work under pressure
    Be flexible and resilient in managing and executing their daily responsibilities;
    Able to demonstrate strong planning and organisational skills;
    Willingness to accept responsibility for your own actions;
    The ability to prioritise effectively, meet deadlines and accept challenges.
    The qualifications and experience required of a Disadvantaged Student Coordinator are:
    Essential Qualifications & Experience
    A minimum of a grade C / 4, or equivalent, in English and Maths GCSE.
    Strong IT literacy, including confident use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
    Evidence of relevant professional development linked to administration, education or safeguarding.
    Experience working within a school, educational or child-centred environment.
    Experience handling sensitive or confidential information appropriately.
    Experience maintaining accurate spreadsheets, databases and administrative records.
    Experience communicating professionally with parents, carers and external agencies.
    Experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
    Desirable Qualifications & Experience
    Level 3 qualification in administration, education or a related field.
    Safeguarding, child protection or GDPR training.
    MyConcern or equivalent safeguarding platform training.
    Experience supporting disadvantaged students or vulnerable groups.
    Experience supporting safeguarding administration.
    Experience working with Virtual Schools, social workers or multi-agency teams.
    Experience producing reports or documentation for senior leaders, governors or external agencies.
    Experience using MyConcern or similar safeguarding systems.
    Knowledge of Pupil Premium funding and accountability expectations.
    Understanding of PLAC/LAC statutory processes, including PEP requirements.
    Awareness of Ofsted expectations relating to safeguarding and disadvantaged provision.
