How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Client: My client have been trading for almost 40 years and have a very strong client base. Much of their work is design and build office, restaurant and high end residential fit out. Other work includes traditional tender and build projects.

    They have a bullet proof bank sheet, own their own offices and a sensible, but ambitions view on growth of the business, the company now turnover in excess of £10m. Within the office there is a real family feel with the directors leading from the front by being in the office and out on site.

    Role: NICEIC QS - £60,000 - £65,000 + Package

    Looking for a talented and driven NICEIC Qualified Supervisor / Quality Manager to join our dynamic team. If you’re passionate about delivering high-quality commercial fit-out projects and want to be rewarded for your impact, this is the role for you.

    You’ll lead the contracting team in matters of the electrical conformity & quality of the electrical projects we deliver ranging from £100k to £1.5M, assisting in a seamless execution from design through to handover. Working closely with our Contracts Directors and Senior Leadership Team, your responsibilities will include:

    Key Responsibilities

    * Attending all active sites as required during the project.

    * To review the temporary installation & certification.

    * To assess the condition of the current installation & it's suitability for safely carrying out the alteration work removals & additions.

    * Meeting with the clients project or site manager to proactively discuss any issues they may have with the Current Affairs site operatives.

    * To review the general site Health & Safety arrangements, check the operatives working on behalf of Current Affairs hold relevant skills cards for the tasks being undertaken including ECS, PASMA, IPAF etc.

    * Assess the working practices being undertaken in relation to electrical work & health & safety during the site visit.

    * After 2nd fix to review the installation for electrical safety, compliance with BS7671and to review the draft certification against the equipment that has been installed to confirm the information on the certification is accurate for cable types, sizes, PD's etc.

    * Visually inspecting the install, checking the distribution board & equipment in detail, carrying out spot checks of outlets & field terminations.

    * Providing written reports following each site visit detailing any noted failure to comply with BS7671 & stating the regulation to which it refers. These reports will be issued to the Contracts Director, Project Manager & the Site Electrical Supervisor involved in the project.

    * Providing reports as above detailing any noted failure to comply with BS5266 & BS5839 when part of the Current Affairs contract.

    * Providing technical assistance/advice to the Current Affairs project manager & the electrical site manager following issue of a report.

    The ideal candidate:

    * We’re looking for someone with strong leadership and technical experience who thrives in a fast-paced commercial environment;

    * Minimum 3 years as a Qualified Supervisor with the NICEIC

    * Strong electrical design knowledge, including lighting design

    * Background in Design & Build commercial office fit-outs

    * Some experience in domestic installation work

    * An ability to manage expectations & impart information in a concise understandable way to all levels of technical ability

    * Ability to work in a fast paced environment
