The Role We are seeking an experienced Fleet Technical Service Coordinator to join a busy and growing fleet operation based in Northampton.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded individual with experience in commercial vehicle maintenance, fleet management, workshop control, breakdown coordination or service administration to play a key role in ensuring vehicles remain compliant, roadworthy and operational.
Working closely with workshops, suppliers, drivers and customers, you will coordinate maintenance activities, manage vehicle downtime and ensure repairs are completed efficiently and cost-effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate vehicle servicing, maintenance and repair activities.
Manage vehicle defects, breakdowns and repair authorisations.
Liaise with workshops, mobile technicians, dealerships and third-party suppliers.
Monitor vehicle compliance, MOT schedules and maintenance records.
Review repair estimates and challenge costs where appropriate.
Raise purchase orders and process maintenance-related documentation.
Ensure work is completed within agreed service level agreements.
Maintain accurate fleet records and management information.
Support drivers and customers with technical and maintenance queries.
Monitor vehicle downtime and identify opportunities for improvement.
Produce reports relating to fleet performance, costs and compliance.About You The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience within fleet maintenance, transport, commercial vehicles, workshop control or service coordination.
Strong technical knowledge of HGVs, LGVs, trailers or fleet vehicles.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Experience liaising with suppliers and external contractors.
Ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment.
Good IT skills including Microsoft Office.
Experience using fleet management or workshop management systems would be advantageous.
A proactive approach with strong problem-solving abilities.What We Offer
