How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    An opportunity has arisen for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join an independent veterinary practice with a strong reputation for delivering compassionate care and building lasting relationships with clients and their pets.

    As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will provide high-quality nursing care, support clinical procedures and contribute to the smooth running of the practice.

    This full-time role offers a salary range of £30,000 - £33,000 and benefits. Part-time hours candidates will also be considered.

    You will be responsible for:

    Conducting nurse consultations and providing advice to clients.
    Assisting Veterinary Surgeons during consultations and surgical procedures.
    Delivering a high standard of inpatient nursing care.
    Supporting patient admissions and discharges.
    Processing and running laboratory samples.
    Maintaining and managing your designated clinical workspace.
    Supervising work experience students within the practice.
    Providing clinical coaching and support to Student Veterinary Nurses when required.

    What we are looking for:

    Previously worked as a Registered Veterinary Nurse, Veterinary Nurse, RVN, Registered Nurse or in a similar role.
    Registered Veterinary Nurse status with the RCVS.
    Prior experience within a veterinary clinical setting.
    Confidence in both medical and surgical nursing duties.
    Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload efficiently.

    Shift:

    Working hours: 37 hours per week.
    You can choose to work either:
    4 days per week, with 9.25-hour shifts, or
    A similar number of hours spread across 5 days.

    Regular day off will be either Tuesday or Wednesday.
    1 in every 3 Saturday mornings.
