How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Lead Electrical Project Manager – Data Centre

    Camberley | New Build Data Centre | £50m M&E Package | Permanent

This is a major role for an Electrical Project Manager who has already delivered large, technically demanding building services packages and is ready to take lead responsibility on a serious data centre scheme.

You will be joining a £50m M&E data centre project in the Camberley area, involving the delivery of two new data halls alongside the refurbishment of an existing data hall. It is a project with real technical depth, combining new build delivery, critical infrastructure, live environment considerations, commissioning pressure and the level of coordination expected on mission-critical work.

This is not a role for someone who wants to sit above the detail. The job needs a Lead Electrical Project Manager who can take control of programme, procurement, technical information, subcontractors, commissioning strategy, quality and day-to-day delivery, while keeping close enough to the site team to know where the pressure points are.

The business is a specialist data centre contractor with a strong position in mission-critical delivery. They understand the sector, the standards expected and the pace these projects move at. You will have the support of senior management, commercial, design, commissioning and operational teams, but the electrical package will still need someone who can properly own it.

You will be working closely with mechanical, CSA, commercial, design, logistics, commissioning, subcontractor and client-side teams. The role needs someone calm under pressure, technically strong and commercially aware, with the confidence to lead people and make decisions when the job demands it.

    What you’ll do

Lead the electrical delivery across a major data centre scheme involving two new data halls and the refurbishment of an existing data hall.

Take responsibility for electrical planning, programme control, procurement, labour management, technical information, site coordination and package delivery.

Manage electrical systems including HV/LV distribution, switchgear, generators, UPS, busbar, containment, lighting, small power, earthing, life safety systems, controls interfaces, testing, commissioning and IST.

Coordinate closely with mechanical and CSA teams to make sure electrical works are properly sequenced around plant, structure, builders’ work, containment routes, commissioning requirements and handover milestones.

Lead subcontractors, supervisors, engineers and package teams, making sure expectations are clear and progress is being properly driven.

Review and manage drawings, RFIs, technical submittals, procurement schedules, method statements, risk assessments, quality records and installation documentation.

Attend and lead project meetings with internal teams, subcontractors, consultants and client representatives, keeping actions moving and issues closed out.

Monitor progress against programme, identify risk early and put corrective action in place before issues affect delivery.

Work closely with the commercial team on cost control, change, subcontractor performance, risk, reporting and project profitability.

Maintain high standards across health, safety, quality and environmental delivery.

Drive the project through testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing, client demonstration, O&M information and final handover.

    What you’ll need

    * You will already have experience as an Electrical Project Manager, Senior Electrical Project Manager, Lead Electrical Project Manager or Electrical Package Lead within building services.

    * You will have delivered large electrical packages for an M&E contractor, ideally in data centres, mission-critical, pharmaceutical, healthcare, industrial, commercial or other technically demanding project environments.

    * Data centre experience would be a strong advantage, particularly around critical power, resilience, commissioning, IST, containment-heavy installations and working to strict handover milestones.

    * You will need to understand how to manage electrical projects from pre-construction and procurement through to installation, commissioning and handover.

    * You will be commercially and contractually aware, with a good understanding of programme, change control, subcontractor management, reporting, cost pressure and project P&L.

    * You will be confident leading site teams, managing subcontractors, dealing with clients and consultants, and keeping momentum across a fast-moving project.

    * You will need strong communication, organisation and reporting skills, along with the technical confidence to challenge information, resolve issues and keep the installation team moving.

    * Experience coordinating around CSA works, mechanical interfaces, live environment constraints or phased data hall delivery would be a clear advantage.

    Why this role

This is the sort of project that can properly strengthen an electrical project manager’s CV.

You will be leading the electrical side of a £50m M&E data centre scheme, with a mix of two new data halls and refurbishment works. That gives you exposure to both major new build delivery and the tighter coordination that comes with working around existing critical infrastructure.

For someone who wants to build a stronger position in the data centre sector, this is a sensible move. The work is technically demanding, commercially important and central to the overall success of the project.

If you are an Electrical Project Manager who can lead people, control the detail and deliver under pressure, this is a role worth discussing.
