How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / Hybrid (flexible arrangements considered)
Contract: 1-year contract with scope for future permanent employment
    About the Role
Are you a creative individual with a passion for design, sustainability and hands-on work? Whether you're an experienced packaging designer looking for a flexible part-time role or a junior with a keen eye for design who wants to gain practical experience in the packaging industry, we'd love to hear from you.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment alongside experienced designers. This is a varied role combining packaging design, artwork preparation, customer communication and project administration. Alongside creating artwork and prototypes, you'll work closely with clients and suppliers, maintain product information, proofread artwork and help coordinate projects from concept through to production.
    About Us
We are a dynamic company at the forefront of sustainable packaging, partnering with major retailers and global brands to create environmentally responsible solutions. Our mission is to eliminate single-use plastics by developing stylish, sustainable packaging made from paper and cardboard.
Join us and help shape the future of retail packaging.
    The Role
    * Communicate professionally with clients and overseas suppliers via email, answering queries, providing updates and ensuring projects progress smoothly.
    * Design and develop paper and cardboard packaging using Adobe Illustrator (or similar software).
    * Create physical prototypes and mock-ups, bringing concepts to life from design through to production.
    * Adapt designs to meet retailer and brand guidelines.
    * Maintain and update product information, including adding new products and pricing details to Excel-based pricing manuals and internal documentation.
    * Proofread and quality-check artwork, ensuring accuracy, consistency and compliance with client, retailer and production requirements before approval.
    * Develop an understanding of print processes, dielines and sustainable materials.
    * Collaborate with design, production and commercial teams to ensure packaging is functional, commercially viable and creatively engaging.
    * Assist with project coordination, general administration and the day-to-day organisation of design projects.
    * Research and explore new sustainable packaging solutions and innovative materials.
    Who We're Looking For
    Experienced Candidate
This role would suit someone with experience in the retail or packaging industry who is looking for a flexible part-time opportunity while continuing to contribute their knowledge and creativity.
    Junior Candidate
Equally, we'd welcome a junior applicant with a genuine interest in design, a keen eye for detail and a desire to gain hands-on experience within the packaging industry.
    Ideally you'll have:
    * Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to proofread and quality-check artwork.
    * Strong organisational and administrative skills, with confidence using Microsoft Excel and maintaining accurate records.
    * Excellent written communication skills and confidence communicating professionally with clients and suppliers by email.
    * Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining accuracy.
    * A passion for design, sustainability and creative problem-solving.
    * Natural ability or interest in crafting, model making or working with paper and card.
    * Experience with Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW is beneficial but not essential if you're willing to learn
