How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    SITE ENGINEER – WASTEWATER TREATMENT WORKS - CONTRACT (Inside IR35) - MIDLANDS

    We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a key wastewater treatment works project in the midlands. This is a critical infrastructure scheme focused on upgrading and enhancing treatment capabilities, offering the opportunity to work on a technically challenging and high-profile environment.  The role would suit someone capable of setting out, quality assurance, and ensuring works are delivered in line with design and regulatory requirements.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Carry out accurate setting out for civil engineering works across the site

    Interpret and work from drawings, specifications, and digital models

    Ensure all works are delivered in line with quality standards, ITPs, and project specifications

    Conduct and record quality inspections, checks, and test results

    Support the production and management of RAMS and method statements

    Liaise with site teams, subcontractors, and design teams to resolve technical issues

    Maintain up-to-date as-built records and documentation

    Assist with site surveys and data collection

    Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards

    Requirements:

    Proven experience as a Site Engineer within civil engineering – ideally water or wastewater projects

    Strong experience in setting out (including use of total station/GPS equipment)

    Demonstrable background in quality assurance and site documentation (ITPs, QA records)

    Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications

    Experience working on water treatment, utilities, or infrastructure projects (highly desirable)

    CSCS card (essential)

    HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)

    Desirable:

    Experience on wastewater treatment works or AMP frameworks

    Familiarity with CDM regulations and environmental compliance

    First Aid / SMSTS or SSSTS certification
