How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Major Works Supervisor (Social Housing)
    North London & Home Counties
    Temp-to-Perm Opportunity
    Up to £42,000 + Company Van & Fuel Card

    Are you an experienced Major Works Supervisor with a strong background in social housing refurbishment and planned maintenance projects?

    Our client, a leading social housing contractor, is looking to appoint a Major Works Supervisor to oversee a portfolio of planned works projects across North London and the surrounding Home Counties. This is an excellent temp-to-perm opportunity offering long-term career prospects with a well-established and growing organisation.

    The Role

    Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of major works programmes, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

    Projects may include:

    External and internal refurbishment works
    Roofing replacements and repairs
    Window and door installations
    Kitchen and bathroom programmes
    Decarbonisation and energy efficiency upgrades
    Cyclical decoration and planned maintenance worksKey Responsibilities

    Managing and supervising subcontractors and direct labour on site
    Conducting site inspections and quality control checks
    Monitoring programme delivery and productivity
    Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
    Liaising with residents, client representatives, and stakeholders
    Producing site reports and progress updates
    Resolving on-site issues efficiently and professionally
    Supporting successful project delivery from start to completionRequirements

    Previous experience supervising major works or planned maintenance projects within social housing
    Strong understanding of refurbishment and construction processes
    Excellent communication and resident liaison skills
    Ability to manage multiple sites across a geographical patch
    Good knowledge of health and safety legislation
    Full UK Driving Licence
    SSSTS/SMSTS and First Aid qualifications desirableWhat's on Offer
