Location: Abingdon, Oxfordshire

Salary: Up to £85,000

Shift: Monday – Friday

Job Role of the Head of Project Management & Engineering

A great opportunity has come to market for a Head of Project Management & Engineering to join a highly respected and fast-growing engineering business with a strong reputation within the automotive sector.

You will be responsible for leading all customer and R&D projects from concept through to delivery, managing a team of Project Engineers, and ensuring full alignment between engineering, manufacturing, quality, and commercial functions.

This is a senior leadership role within the Management Team, where you will play a key part in driving technical delivery, project execution, and continuous improvement across complex engineering programmes.

Sector – Automotive / Advanced Manufacturing / Composites

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Head of Project Management & Engineering

· 10–15+ years’ experience in automotive, composites, aerospace, or advanced manufacturing environments
· Strong engineering project management leadership experience
· Proven experience managing technical engineering teams

Requirements for the Head of Project Management & Engineering

· Strong understanding of engineering design, manufacturing, and project delivery processes
· Experience working with ERP systems and structured project controls
· Strong commercial awareness including quotations and project costing
· Experience working with customers and senior stakeholders
· Understanding of manufacturing environments and production planning

Desirable for the Head of Project Management & Engineering

· Experience within composites or high-performance automotive/aerospace environments
· Knowledge of FEA and design tools (CATIA V5, Femap, Altair, HyperWorks)
· Experience working to AS9100 quality standards
· Background in low-volume, high-complexity engineering programmes
