How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    A day in the life of a Murphy People Assistant

    Act as a first point of contact for BMJV staff, responding to queries in a timely and professional manner
    Manage queries via email, phone and in person, escalating where appropriate
    Administer onboarding, compliance processes, competency checking as required
    Support end-to-end onboarding processes including new starter administration and inductions
    Administer compliance requirements including right-to-work checks, documentation tracking and competency validation
    Ensure all records are accurate, complete, and compliant with audit requirements
    Assist in preparing people reports and management information
    Support tracking of key metrics (e.g. onboarding, diversity, training compliance)
    Provide administrative support for audits and inspections
    Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance efficiency
    Support people-related initiatives including onboarding improvements, engagement activities, and system implementation
    Work collaboratively with the wider People & Culture team on the Joint Venture, line managers and Client Team
    Support the People & Culture Team in successfully delivering People KPIs

    Experience working in a confidential environment with sensitive data
    High attention to detail and accuracy
    Strong communication skills and a teamplayer
    Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
    Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
    Experience in construction, infrastructure, or project-based environments
    Proficient in PowerBI
    Digital mindset, able to quicky learn new system
