How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

A day in the life of a Murphy Supply Chain Lead

Lead the development and delivery of the supply chain strategy for BMJV on the Lower Thames Crossing Project.
Shape supply chain structuring, capability planning and market engagement.
Oversee supplier performance and relationship management to drive continuous improvement, efficiency and value.
Manage and continue to embed ISO 44001, promoting collaborative behaviours and long-term relationships with key partners.
Lead local and SME engagement, including Supply Chain Roadshows and Meet the Buyer events.
Embed social value, carbon reduction and community commitments into supply chain strategies and supplier performance frameworks.
Monitor supply chain capacity, financial resilience and risk, providing clear insight and recommendations to senior leadership.
Support innovation and modern methods that improve cost efficiency, buildability, programme certainty and sustainability.
Ensure contractual compliance and governance across the supply chain.
Act as a key interface between suppliers, project teams, internal departments and the client.
Produce reports, data and insight to support decision-making and KPI delivery.
Visit sites and supplier premises as required to support effective engagement and performance management.

Still interested, does this sound like you?

Strong background in supply chain management within major construction or infrastructure projects.
Proven experience operating at a strategic level, influencing delivery outcomes rather than managing day-to-day buying.
Experience in supplier relationship management and collaborative working (ISO 44001 desirable).
Confident engaging with senior stakeholders, supply chain partners and clients.
Comfortable presenting to supply chain audiences at events and engagement forums.
Strong understanding of construction processes from pre-construction through delivery.
Commercially aware, with a good working knowledge of contracts and risk.
Passionate about delivering social value and sustainable supply chains.
Strong organisational, communication and time management skills.
High level of IT literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Construction, engineering or infrastructure background preferred.

You don’t need to meet every requirement to apply. If this role excites you, we’d love to hear from you. Diverse voices help us think bigger and do better. We particularly encourage application from underrepresented groups including women, ethnic minorities and individuals with disabilities
