How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Drainage Surveyor – S104 Pre-Adoption Surveys
    Location: Field-based (projects across Birmingham to Bristol corridor with South Wales coverage) Paid travel
    Employment Type: Full-time / Permanent
    Salary: £16.50-£19.00ph dependent on experience
    About the Role
    We are seeking an experienced Drainage Surveyor to join our clients growing team, specialising in Section 104 (S104) pre-adoption drainage surveys. You will play a key role in inspecting, assessing, and verifying newly constructed sewer systems prior to adoption by water authorities.
    This role is ideal for someone with strong technical drainage knowledge, hands-on surveying experience, and a solid understanding of adoptable sewer standards.

    Key Responsibilities
    Carry out S104 pre-adoption CCTV drainage surveys and inspections
    Assess new sewer installations against adoption standards (e.g. water company requirements)
    Produce accurate, detailed survey reports and defect logs
    Liaise with developers, contractors, and engineers on-site
    Identify non-compliance issues and recommend remedial actions
    Ensure all survey data is correctly recorded and submitted in line with industry standards
    Operate CCTV drainage equipment and related surveying technologyRequired Experience & Skills
    Proven experience as a Drainage Surveyor or CCTV Drainage Technician
    Strong working knowledge of S104 sewer adoption processes and standards
    Experience producing high-quality technical reports
    Competence using CCTV drainage inspection systems and reporting software (e.g. WinCan or similar)
    Understanding of adoptable sewer construction and defect identification
    Full UK driving licence
    Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently on-siteDesirable
    NRSWA Streetworks accreditation
    Confined Spaces certification
    CSCS card
    Experience working with developers or water authority adoption teamsWhat We Offer
