Newcastle-under-Lyme | Permanent Position | 4-Day Working Week
Contek Recruitment are currently representing a well-established precision engineering manufacturer based in Newcastle-under-Lyme, who are looking to recruit an experienced CNC Turner Programmer / Setter / Operator to join their busy and growing Turning Department.

The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines to produce high-quality precision components in line with customer specifications and engineering drawings.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest manufacturing standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines – Fanuc controls (Or similar G-code systems)
* Manufacturing precision components to tight tolerances
* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications
* Selecting appropriate tooling and machining strategies
* Performing first-off inspections and in-process quality checks
* Making tooling and offset adjustments as required
* Ensuring components meet quality and production requirements
* Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
* Supporting continuous improvement activities within the department
* Working closely with colleagues across production and quality teams
Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants should possess:
- Proven experience as a CNC Turner Programmer / Setter / Operator with Fanuc control knowledge
- Strong knowledge of CNC turning processes and machining techniques
- Experience programming and setting CNC lathes independently
- Ability to work from engineering drawings with minimal supervision
- Experience producing precision components to tight tolerances
- Good understanding of cutting tools, materials and machining parameters
- Strong attention to detail and quality-focused approach
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude
Experience within a precision engineering or subcontract machining environment would be advantageous.
Working Hours
* Monday to Thursday
* 37 basic contracted hours per week
* Enjoy a genuine three-day weekend every week
Overtime Available
Regular overtime opportunities are available on:
