Some engineering roles are about keeping machines running.
This one is about keeping a factory moving.
We're working with a major UK food manufacturer that supplies products into virtually every supermarket in the country. Operating from a highly automated production facility, they're looking to strengthen their engineering team with the appointment of a Multi-Skilled Engineer.
You'll join a business where engineering is valued, investment is ongoing, and continuous improvement isn't just something written on a poster in the canteen.
What You'll Be Doing
Responding to breakdowns and minimising downtime across a fast-paced manufacturing operation
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance activities
Fault finding across electrical and mechanical systems
Working with production teams to improve equipment reliability and performance
Supporting continuous improvement projects and root cause investigations
Maintaining high standards of safety, food quality and engineering compliance
What We're Looking For
You'll likely be an experienced Maintenance Engineer, Multi-Skilled Engineer or Shift Engineer from a manufacturing environment.
Ideally you'll bring experience of:
Electrical and mechanical fault finding
PLC-controlled machinery
Drives, motors, sensors and control systems
Pneumatics and hydraulics
PPM and reactive maintenance
FMCG, food, packaging, automated warehousing or other high-speed production environmentsA recognised engineering qualification and apprenticeship background would be highly advantageous.
Why Apply?
This is an opportunity to join a well-established manufacturer with significant investment, strong operational performance and genuine opportunities for progression.
You'll be joining a supportive engineering team where your input is valued and where you'll have the chance to develop both technically and professionally.
Because fixing the same machine in the same factory for the next ten years probably wasn't the master plan when you started your engineering career.
