How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

We are seeking an exceptional Educational Lead to champion the academic and holistic development of football academy players. You will bridge the gap between football and education. You will ensure these young athletes excel off the pitch while pursuing their professional dreams.

This role demands a passion for youth development, outstanding organisation, and deep empathy.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Academic Management: Oversee individual educational pathways (GCSEs, A-Levels, BTECs) for the pupils at the academy.

    * School Liaison: Maintain daily contact with partner schools, colleges, and parents to track attendance, behaviour, and progress.

    * Holistic Support: Work alongside the Wellbeing Lead to ensure emotional and social needs are being met.

    * Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with FA Youth Development Rules and safeguarding standards.

    * Transition Planning: Provide career guidance and support for players navigating release or transition out of football.

    What We Are Looking For

    * Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a degree in Education, Sports Management, or a related field.

    * Experience: Proven track record of working with elite young athletes or within an educational leadership role at KS3-KS5.

    * Knowledge: Strong understanding of the UK education system and current safeguarding regulations.

    * Skills: Elite communication skills with the ability to inspire teenagers and manage diverse stakeholders.

This is an exciting and niche role to support the country’s best young athletes, so an interest in sports and football a must, plus an excellent attention to detail and the ability to liaise with pupils, parents, schools, colleges and other outside agencies.

The role is to start in June 2026 with a permanent position available from September.
