How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Wallend Substation, Isle of Grain, Kent.
    Start Date: 22/06/2026
    Duration: 16 months+
    Hours: 50 Hours Per Week
    Pay Type: LTD / Umbrella (Outside IR35)

    £39.00 per hour - First 37 Hours
    £41.34 per hour - After 37 Hours & First 4 Hours Saturday
    £45.06 per hour - After 4 Hours Saturday / Sunday / Bank Holidays

    PAYE Rates
    £28.85 per hour - First 37 Hours
    £30.58 per hour - After 37 Hours & First 4 Hours Saturday
    £33.34 per hour - After 4 Hours Saturday / Sunday / Bank Holidays

    Search Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join our client on the prestigious Neu Connect HVDC project.

    Working directly under the Site Manager, you will take responsibility for leading site teams, coordinating work fronts, monitoring progress, and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to programme.

    Essential Requirements:

    National Grid Person
    SSSTS or SMSTS
    CSCS or CCNSG Safety Passport
    3 Day First Aid
    Mechanical Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 Qualification
    Previous Mechanical Supervisor experience
    Experience working on HV, EHV, Substation, HVDC, Power Generation, Renewable Energy or Heavy Industrial projectsDuties & Responsibilities:

    Supervise mechanical installation teams across multiple work fronts.
    Coordinate labour, plant, materials and engineering requirements.
    Drive programme delivery whilst maintaining quality standards.
    Liaise with site management, subcontractors and client representatives.
    Identify and communicate potential delays or disruptions.
    Ensure all activities are completed in accordance with QEHS procedures.
    Assist with project documentation and milestone deliverables.
    Promote a strong health, safety and environmental culture on site.About You:
    You will be an experienced Mechanical Supervisor with a proven background leading teams on major power, transmission, renewable energy, industrial or infrastructure projects. Strong leadership skills, a proactive approach to planning and a commitment to delivering work safely and efficiently are essential.
