How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Role
You will be responsible for producing detailed electrical designs and schematics for bespoke LV switchgear projects, working closely with estimating, production, manufacturing and site teams to ensure projects are delivered correctly from design through to installation and commissioning.
    Duties will include:

    • Preparing functional design specifications for LV protection devices
    • Working from client specifications and project requirements
    • Supporting estimating teams with technical input
    • Liaising with clients, contractors, suppliers and internal departments
    • Supporting FAT and SAT testing
    • Producing technical submissions and O&M manuals
    • Managing multiple projects from design through to delivery
    • Providing technical support to sales, production and site teams
    The Candidate
You should have experience in electrical design within a switchgear, control panel, MCC, panel building or electrical systems environment.
    You will ideally have:
    • HNC or above in Electrical Engineering
    • Experience designing LV switchgear, control panels, MCCs or distribution boards
    • Experience using AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SEE Electrical or similar CAD software
    • Strong understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and panel layouts
    • Knowledge of BS7671, BS EN 61439 and IEC standards
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and work to deadlines
    • Good communication skills and a practical approach to engineering
Experience with MCC wiring, PLC programming or LV/HV package integration would be beneficial but is not essential.
    The Package
    • Competitive salary, depending on experience
    • Private healthcare
    • Health cash plan
    • Company pension
    • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
    • Training and professional development support
    • Long-term progression within a growing engineering business
This is a strong opportunity for an Electrical Engineer looking for a varied role covering design, technical project support and delivery within a specialist LV switchgear environment
