How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior Product Cost Engineer – Sustaining

    Bristol - Hybrid Working - Competitive Salary + Benefits

    BMR Solutions are working with a global engineering and technology manufacturer to recruit a Senior Product Cost Engineer – Sustaining to join their engineering team in Bristol.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer with a strong background in product design, value engineering, and cost reduction to play a key role in delivering engineering improvements across a range of complex products. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing engineering changes while maintaining product performance, quality, reliability, and compliance standards.

    The Role

    Working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and external suppliers, you will identify and deliver cost-reduction initiatives through practical engineering solutions. You will take ownership of engineering design changes, from concept through validation and release, ensuring improvements can be successfully implemented into production environments.

    The role will involve evaluating existing designs, developing lower-cost alternatives, validating proposed changes through analysis and testing, and supporting their introduction into manufacturing.

    About You

    We are looking for a proactive engineer with experience delivering product or component design changes within a manufacturing environment. You will have a strong understanding of engineering design principles and a proven track record of identifying and implementing cost-saving improvements.

    Applicants should have:

    * Degree qualified in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

    * Experience delivering engineering design changes within a manufacturing or product-based environment.

    * Proven experience identifying and implementing cost-reduction or value-engineering initiatives.

    * Strong mechanical and/or electrical engineering design capability.

    * Experience working closely with manufacturing teams, supply chain functions, and suppliers.

    * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

    Chartered Engineer status, or progression towards chartership, would be advantageous.
