How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation Engineer – Hardware / Electrical - West Yorkshire – Permanent - £50-55k + bonus (8%) / flexible working hours

    Samuel Frank is recruiting for a Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation Engineer to join a well-established & successful engineering business in West Yorkshire.

    The company is going through some exciting changes as they’ve increased the sizes of the projects they’re working on and have recently been accepted on framework agreements that are new to them. This means company growth, new/large projects, training opportunities and career progression for the successful Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation Engineer to be a part of.

    Key aspects of the Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation Engineer role include;

    * Someone who is passionate about control engineering and is keen to continue their career with a company that’s big on training, development and working with cutting edge technology

    * Experience of hardware and controls design, including writing functional design specifications

    * Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation Engineer will be capable of specifying PLCs, pneumatics and motors

    * Good understanding of electrical engineering design (i.e. ability to produce electrical schematics).

    * Awareness of fan/motor design & control

    * Awareness of electrical safety circuit and design

    * General awareness of control gear and use in control system designs

    * Awareness of Electrical / Controls Legislation & Codes of Practice.

    * Knowledge of working to ATEX standards will be useful

    * The successful Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation Engineer will be office based most of the time with a couple of site visits per year involved

    * HNC/HND Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification

    * All Control Engineers applying for the role must be eligible work in the UK without sponsorship

    The clients’ premises are commutable from most of West Yorkshire and further afield including places such as Leeds, Bradford, Huddersfield, Halifax, Wakefield, Brighouse, Dewsbury and Oldham / East Manchester
