How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Solar O&M Electrician

    Location: Cornwall
    Salary: £38,000 - £45,000 per annum
    Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

    Overview

    We are seeking an experienced Solar / O&M Electrician to join a growing renewable energy business operating across Cornwall and the South West. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, inspection, testing, fault finding and repair of commercial and utility-scale solar PV systems.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an electrician with proven solar experience who is looking to develop their career within the renewable energy sector.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on solar PV installations.

    * Diagnose and rectify faults on AC and DC electrical systems.

    * Perform installs, inspections, testing and verification of electrical installations.

    * Complete maintenance reports and site documentation.

    * Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

    * Respond to reactive maintenance call-outs when required.

    * Ensure all works are completed in accordance with current regulations and company procedures.

    * Work safely and maintain high standards of health and safety at all times.

    * Liaise with clients, site managers and internal teams to ensure efficient project delivery.

    Essential Requirements

    * NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.

    * 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).

    * Proven experience working on solar PV systems.

    * Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

    * Full UK Driving Licence.

    * Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.

    Desirable Qualifications & Experience

    * City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing.

    * AM2 Qualification.

    * Solar PV installation or maintenance qualifications.

    * Experience working on commercial or utility-scale solar farms.

    * Knowledge of inverters, monitoring platforms and battery storage systems.
