How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

SEN Computing Teacher – Make a Lasting Impact

Are you a passionate and dedicated Computing Teacher looking for a rewarding role within a specialist SEN environment? We are seeking an enthusiastic educator to join a supportive specialist SEN school setting, delivering engaging and inclusive Computing lessons to secondary-aged pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

This is an exciting opportunity to support learners in developing essential digital skills, confidence and independence within a structured and nurturing environment.

    The Role

As a Computing Teacher, you will deliver high-quality lessons to secondary-aged students with SEND across the school. You will plan, assess and track pupil progress in line with school policies, including KS4 qualifications and accreditation. You will adapt teaching strategies and materials to meet individual learning needs and work collaboratively with colleagues to implement school policies and best practice. You will also manage and support Learning Support Assistants in the classroom and contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.

This is a part-time position working two days per week (Tuesday and Wednesday) on an open-ended contract, with the potential for the role to become permanent.

    Start Date: 30th June 2026

    Subject Leadership Responsibilities (if applicable)

You may be responsible for leading and developing the Computing curriculum across the school. This includes monitoring and evaluating teaching and learning, identifying areas for improvement, and supporting continuous development. You will contribute to schemes of work and subject policies, manage and recommend resources, and support colleagues in line with the school improvement plan.

    Wider Responsibilities

You will attend staff meetings, training sessions and professional development days, and engage in continuous professional development. You will participate in school events such as parents’ evenings and open days, and carry out playground or pastoral duties as required.

    What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) with experience teaching Computing at secondary level. Experience or a strong interest in SEND, SEMH or specialist education is highly desirable. You should be confident differentiating learning, have strong classroom management skills, and demonstrate a calm, resilient and compassionate approach.

    Salary and Details

Pay scale is MPR, UPR or UTR depending on experience. This is a part-time role (2 days per week) with potential for progression and a temp-to-perm opportunity.

    Safeguarding and Compliance

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All applicants must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS and provide professional references.
