How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Design and Development Engineer will play a pivotal role in driving the successful launch of new products within the industrial and manufacturing sector. This position requires a proactive approach to ensure engineering excellence, projects and seamless product introduction in Stockport.

    Description

    As the Design and Development engineer you will be tasked with the following;

    Lead the development and introduction of new products, ensuring alignment with project timelines and quality standards.
    Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, production, and quality assurance to optimise product development processes.
    Evaluate and refine manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
    Coordinate product testing and validation to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
    Identify and resolve technical challenges during the product development lifecycle.
    Performing pertinent actions in SAP (Raising ECs, BOM Creation)
    Project ownership of all stages from conception through testing, verification and launch.
    Prepare and maintain technical documentation and reports related to NPI activities.
    Support continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering and manufacturing departments.
    Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide progress updates and address concerns.Profile

    A successful Design and Development Engineer should have:

    Beng in Product Design, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
    A background within a machining environment is highly desirable
    Track record of delivering engineering projects
    Analytical mindset, able to evaluate results, data and form clear conclusions from your findings
    5 years of experience in use of CAD software's (Autodesk inventor)
    Demonstrable experience of working within a design and development role.
    Previous MRP system exposure (SAP is desirable)
